Rebuilding FALDEF’s Leadership, Governance & Institutional Systems

As FALDEF rebuilt its organizational capacity, DTC’s engagement extended beyond fundraising and grant development to the internal systems required to sustain the organization over time. DTC supported a Board transition and governance restructuring, helping the organization navigate leadership changes while creating greater clarity around roles, responsibilities, oversight, and organizational direction.

DTC also worked with FALDEF to review and overhaul outdated processes, including governance practices, internal operations, bylaws, planning structures, and other organizational systems that no longer reflected the needs of a reactivated and growing nonprofit. This work helped modernize how the organization operates while strengthening the foundation for future programs, fundraising, and Board accountability.

By connecting funding, programming, governance, leadership transition, and organizational strategy, DTC helped FALDEF move beyond short-term reactivation toward a stronger institutional model. The result was a more durable framework for decision-making, Board oversight, operational consistency, and sustainable organizational growth.
