National Civic Research Across 18 Asian Fraternities and Sororities

DTC developed Beyond the Ballot: Mobilizing NAPA for AAPI Civic Power and Justice, a 35-page national research report based on survey responses collected from 245 individuals across 18 NAPA member organizations between September and November 2024. The research examined voter registration and participation, civic engagement, media consumption, organizational involvement, policy priorities, and barriers affecting deeper participation. NAPA publicly described the project as a partnership with DTC to analyze its voter engagement survey and develop strategies for its APIDA membership.

DTC moved beyond reporting topline survey results by analyzing the relationship between individual civic behavior and the organizational environments surrounding members. The report examined where engagement was already occurring, where gaps existed, and how fraternities and sororities could strengthen civic education, leadership development, and opportunities for continued participation.

The result was a research foundation that NAPA could use for more than a single voter-engagement initiative. DTC helped turn member data into an institutional resource for understanding NAPA’s network, informing future programming, developing organizational strategies, and creating the foundation for the policy and implementation work that followed.
