Defining Sambran’s Place in the Nonprofit Ecosystem

DTC conducted a comprehensive ecosystem and organizational positioning analysis to help Sambran understand the environment surrounding its work and determine where the organization could contribute most effectively. The process examined existing organizations and services, community gaps, potential areas of duplication, stakeholder relationships, collaboration opportunities, and the broader systems influencing the communities Sambran seeks to serve.
DTC also developed ecosystem, ally, stakeholder, and power mapping to help leadership understand which institutions, community organizations, funders, service providers, advocates, and other actors could influence or support Sambran’s development. This allowed the organization to think strategically about where partnerships could extend its impact and where Sambran could provide services or approaches not adequately addressed elsewhere.
The result was a clearer organizational position that could guide program development, partnerships, fundraising, communications, and expansion. Rather than attempting to serve every possible need, Sambran gained a framework for understanding where it could build a differentiated and sustainable role within its broader ecosystem.
