$2.6 Million Secured for Permanent Filipino Community Infrastructure
DTC supported the funding strategy and development behind two major federal awards, including $1.6 million and $1 million in federal investment secured through congressional and Senate funding processes. Together, the awards represent $2.6 million in public investment dedicated to establishing long term community infrastructure for Filipino New Yorkers.
The significance of the investment extends beyond the funding amount itself. The planned Filipino community center creates the opportunity for a permanent institutional home supporting community services, cultural programming, civic engagement, education, organizational collaboration, events, and future community development. Instead of relying exclusively on temporary programs or borrowed spaces, the investment creates the foundation for a lasting physical asset serving the community.
DTC’s work helped connect federal funding strategy, government relations, organizational positioning, capital planning, and long term community development into a larger institutional vision. The progression moved from funding individual activities toward building institutions and creating permanent community infrastructure, positioning NaFFAA to strengthen its capacity and community presence for years to come.
