Building Ascend Beyond From Concept Into an Operating Nonprofit

DTC worked with Ascend Beyond during its formative stage to establish the institutional foundation required for long term operations. This included developing organizational priorities, leadership and administrative functions, internal roles and responsibilities, operational workflows, program infrastructure, and broader considerations around growth and capacity.

DTC also helped define Ascend Beyond’s strategic direction around empowering AAPI youth and communities through leadership development, mental health and wellness, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, sports, education, and community building. Rather than developing these areas independently, DTC created a framework connecting the organization’s mission with its programs, resources, operations, partnerships, and intended impact.

The result was an institutional model that leadership could use to guide future decisions around programming, staffing, partnerships, fundraising, and expansion. DTC’s work helped ensure that Ascend Beyond was built around functional systems and a clear strategic identity rather than simply establishing a nonprofit entity without the infrastructure necessary to operate it.
