$100K Secured Through the Black Legislative Task Force

DTC supported CEP in developing and advancing the funding request by connecting the organization’s frontline community work with a broader case for public investment. The request emphasized the need for culturally responsive services that reflect the experiences of Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrants and community members who often navigate overlapping barriers related to race, immigration, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, and access to supportive services.

The $100,000 award provided CEP with significant new resources to strengthen programming and direct services while expanding the organization’s capacity to serve Afro Caribbean and Indo Caribbean communities. The funding also reinforced CEP’s position as an institution able to translate community needs into clearly defined service priorities that government stakeholders can understand and invest in.

Beyond the award itself, the funding represents an important step in CEP’s broader public sector growth. DTC helped connect community need, program strategy, government relations, and funding advocacy, helping CEP build a stronger foundation for sustained government investment and continued expansion of culturally grounded services.
