$40K Secured from the Black Migrant Fund
DTC supported CEP in developing and positioning the funding request around the organization’s work at the intersection of race, migration, LGBTQ+ identity, community care, and access to supportive services. The strategy connected CEP’s frontline experience with Black immigrant communities to a broader case for investment in services that reflect the realities of people navigating multiple and overlapping systems.
The $40,000 award expanded the resources available for CEP’s community facing work while supporting the organization’s ability to sustain and strengthen culturally grounded programming. The funding also reinforced CEP’s role as an institution serving Black migrants whose needs may not be fully addressed within traditional immigrant services or LGBTQ+ service systems alone.
Beyond the award itself, the Black Migrant Fund investment strengthened CEP’s diversified funding portfolio and created another pathway for long term support. DTC helped connect community need, grant strategy, program positioning, and institutional growth, ensuring the funding contributed not only to immediate programming but to CEP’s broader capacity to deepen its work with Black immigrant and migrant communities.
